At the same time, the many-time stressed digital transformation puts traditional companies in great excitement. It is less a matter of converting the analog into the digital, but creating a serious freedom for the necessary cultural revolution. Traditional e-learning was yesterday. Linear presented video trainings are old-fashioned. Passive learning is boring. In the three-dimensional world of tomorrow frontal teaching has worn out as the dominant form of knowledge transfer. Complex training contents will be self-organized and interactively tested and witnessed in virtual training worlds.

Learners will be immersed in a virtual world and discover realistic situations of daily life. The more real and emotional the virtual impressions affect the learner, the stronger the learner experience is anchored and the more sustainable is the learning transfer.

Gamification is more than applying game mechanics. True to the maxim "Fun is just another word for learning" new knowledge is to be discovered with fun and joy. Like any good game, we also offer challenging tasks in our digital training models, give feedback and inspire playfully to the competition.

However, in addition to fun and competition, emotions determine our thinking and our motivation to learn new things. Only when something is important to us, when it goes beneath the skin so to speak, we learn. Only then our brain activates the emotional centres, which lead to the release of neuroplastic messengers. The joy of playing is thus the "fertilizer" for our learning activities.

Emotions are the core of our virtual learning environments. We combine the knowledge transfer with emotional stories to interactive learning processes and due to this fact we are creating a long-lasting bond of learning content.

The digital world radically changes our decision-making processes. Speed and agility displace lengthy decision-making and evaluation cycles. What do we do differently? Agile Engineering helps us to develop new ideas as soon as possible, establish therefrom hypotheses, build prototypes, check if it works, learn from mistakes and finally improve until we find the best solution for our customers.

Studies show that the expenditure and benefits of classical training courses have a seriously unfavourable relationship (less than 10% of the learned topics are later applied). With the experience gained from a multi-year research and development project and a highly motivated team of authors, directors, designers, didactics, software developers, we are investigating playful interactions with our research partners, the Technical University Munich TUM as well as the University of Applied Management for cognitive knowledge transfer.
